"中里・松井(1997;1999)は,青少年の価値観,思いやり意識,親子関係などに関する縦断的な国際比較研究を行い,諸外国に比較して日本の若者の意識や態度が多くの側面において悪化していることを示した。また,その原因が親子関係の希薄さにあることを実証している。ただし,これらの知見は,親子関係の良否を子どもの視点から把握したものであり親の視点が反映されていなかった。本研究の目的は,親子関係の良否と子どもの様々な意識・態度の関連を親子双方の観点から検討することである。日本とトルコ共和国の中高生とその両親を対象に質問紙調査を実施した結果,子どもからみた親子関係の親密さが子どもの道徳意識,恥意識,愛他性,価値観に肯定的な影響を与えるとともに,自らの非行的態度の抑止に寄与していることを示唆した。そして,親からみた子どもとの関係の親密さも親の(子どもに関連した)道徳意識や愛他性に関するしつけを促すとともに,子どもの虞犯や非行を許容しない態度の形成に貢献することを示した。国際比較の観点では,トルコに比べて日本は,親子が互いに心理的に距離を置いており,それが中高生の意識や態度に好ましくない影響を与えていることが示唆された。",
