内容記述 | The aim of the present study is to clarify direct associations between the security of adolescentparent attachment and exploratory factors; learning goals and curiosity, examining the effects of internal working models (IWM) and some of other potentials. The total number of participants were 93 public junior high school students from first to third grades in Tokyo. They were administered self-report measures containing attachment security, IWM styles (secure/ambivalent/avoidant), self-esteem, peer-orientation, learning goal tendency, and curiosity. Regression analyses represented that attachment security would have a strong influence both on learning goal tendency and on curiosity. Self-esteem was found to have a relation only to learning goal tendency. In contrast, IWM styles as well as peer-orientation were not significantly associated with learning goal or curiosity. These findings might indicate that the quality of a particular attachment relationship, rather than representational attachment (i.e., IWM styles), facilitates an adolescent's day-to-day academic exploration. This study suggests that the secure base concept could be applied to an adolescent sample. | |||||
